Amino Fried Rice made with Colman’s Original Amino Glaze

A colourful, umami-rich fried rice that brings together buttery aromatics, crisp vegetables, and the deep savoury sweetness of Colman’s Original Amino Glaze.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
  • ½ onion, finely diced
  • 6 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 small carrot, diced
  • 2 Tbsp corn kernels
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp chilli paste (adjust to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp Colman’s Original Amino Glaze
  • 1 stalk spring onion, chopped
  • Salt – to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat the pan
    Place a large pan or wok over medium heat and melt the butter until it foams.
  2. Sauté the aromatics
    Add onions and garlic with a pinch of salt. Sauté until fragrant and slightly golden.
  3. Add vegetables & spice
    Stir in diced carrots and corn. Add chilli paste and toss until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Glaze for flavour
    Pour in Colman’s Original Amino Glaze — about 2 tablespoons, or more to taste. Mix well so the vegetables absorb the glaze’s rich, caramelised flavour.
  5. Add rice & eggs
    Push the mixture to one side, pour in the beaten eggs and scramble lightly. Add cooked rice and toss thoroughly to combine.
  6. Finish & serve
    Sprinkle spring onions on top, toss once more, and serve warm.
